Over the last fifteen years I’ve supported clients with a range of complex mental health difficulties, as well as support individuals in maintaining a positive mental wellbeing. I’m accredited with the BACP and recognised as an Accredited EMDR Psychotherapist working towards consultant status with EMDR UK. I have predominately worked in charity settings and continue to support local charities such as the Jonathan Upshall Foundation and Changing Lives with Pick Up a Penny.
I began with spending several years with Mind, in a variety of roles such as, counsellor, a hospital discharge worker; supporting patients at Lanchester Road hospital, and as a trainer specialising in suicide awareness and prevention. I have also worked with a national homeless charity in Newcastle called Crisis for over ten years, roles including, counsellor and Mental health Coordinator where I have been able to further my experience working with complex mental health difficulties. As a trainer I have offered Complex trauma training, suicide intervention training, Susie Lamplugh Personal safety training, Compassion Fatigue and Secondary Traumatic stress as well as run a variety of mental health awareness-based workshops.
In the last five years I have developed my own private practice where I am mostly sought for attachment informed trauma therapy both face to face and online. Additionally, as part of working towards consultant status I offer EMDR supervision specialising in trauma, dissociation and ego-state work.
